Floatsum boatsum!
Our mate Sven hired a Boat for Saturday night, it's the sort of thing our mate Sven does. So we packed a huge amount of vital things to take, and took off to the beach ,
with an obligatory long car ride – well we did have our UK backing dancer with us (who had no idea what was planned), and she likes being in the back of cars, something for everyone ..right?! (youtube: lyrical Myricalz 'Amsterdam Styleez')
After a few hours of sunbathing we blindfolded said backing dancer, lead her on a merry journey, finally delivering her at the 'surprise' – the boat!(I, Sven and finally Cat ALL managed to slip up during the day..we are RUBBISH at surprises!). The boat is more like a shack/shed/deep south house that floats, perfect for us wannabe pirates!
We motored off towards Kruzberg at a very leisurely pace, picking up a chum who had been rowing towards us for FOUR hours,
Made, and ate a fab BBQ, looked gorgeous in the setting sun,
and sang along to Barry White. We finally pulled up alongside a waterside bar and hopped on board, seeing that nobody was worth pirating, all FAR too cool for Skool, and we had forgotten the teeth black out..we settled for making a huge bed on the boat, rescuing a friend for the otherside of the rivers rather grown-up bar, and nattering away among ourselves into the wee hours ('DISCUSS!').
Motoring back to the drop off point for the Floating Shack at 6.30am was beatuiful, if somewhat bleary eyed. Nearing our destination 'Gangster Cat' took the helm, and was promptly pulled over by the water police for..well, we are not exactly sure what, but the last leg was done VERY SLOWLY, and in straight lines (Floatsum Boatsum is Forboden!)
Recovering on the beach afterwards with occasional dips into murky and child filled waters to cool off, we all felt really rather happy and contented with our pirate friendships and life. Long may it last!
